Introducing ‘Cover Love’ – a new series on RobAroundBooks

Coming within a couple of hours of this introduction will be the first post in a new series I’m bringing to RobAroundBooks called ‘Cover Love’. It’s a series which focuses on that emotional desire which is inherent in all bibliophiles – the lust for a good book cover.

‘Cover love’ is a passion that burns deep inside me, and although I’m very select in my reading choices (and definitely not shallow enough to be influenced by cover art), it doesn’t stop me appreciating with a smoldering enthusiasm, the wonderful world of book covers. I’ve spoken passionately about book covers often on RobAroundBooks, even going as far as declaring my undying admiration for one of the best in the business – Coralie Bickford-Smith :o ), but this is the first time I’ve introduced a dedicated series on the subject, and I’m hugely excited about it.

There does exist of course, a large number of websites dedicated to the celebration of the book cover (the Book Design Review rates as one of my favourites), but this ongoing series is in no way an attempt to ‘steal the thunder’ from any of these awesome portals – not that I have anywhere near the talent needed to even consider such a notion. Cover Love is solely an individual celebration of the book cover, a personal ‘journey’ of affection if you will :o ). So join me very soon as I celebrate with a passion, that special desire that resides in the heart of every bibliophile, the feeling that can only be known as Cover Love!

About Rob

Rob, a self-confessed bibliophile, is without any hope of rehabilitation. He gets unnaturally excited over anything book-shaped, and if book sniffing were a crime then he would have been locked up years ago (which wouldn't bother him in the slightest provided his cell was lined with books)
