Sunday’s weekly ’round up’ – sponsored by Man Flu!

That’s right folks, unlike my good lady wife who has a ‘slight cold’, I’ve succumbed to the dreaded ‘man flu’, and aside from thinking every shadow I see is the dreaded Grim Reaper with sickle in hand [gulp!], I’m sneezing and spluttering my way all over the place….and it ain’t pretty!

Of course Father Time waits for no man (or woman), so despite my moans, groans, aches and pains I’ve put in the incredible effort to deliver a rundown on the posts put up on RobAroundBooks during the past 7 days (Geez I’m such a heroic martyr ain’t I? :o )):

Ok folks, that’s the lot. 9 posts in 7 days isn’t exactly ‘super productive’ but I’ll definitely make up for that next week. Thanks to everyone who dropped by to say hello, to show some support, and to leave a comment or two. As always I love you all!

Finally, my apologies to anyone following me on Twitter and coming along expecting my tweeted promise of ‘afterthoughts’ on One Moonlit Night and Fup, and my ‘forethoughts’ for Anna Enquist’s a Leap by this evening. I’ll get them finished up and posted just as soon as this Man Flu lifts [whispers: it's beginning to already but don't tell my wife].

Happy reading guys and gals!

About Rob

Rob, a self-confessed bibliophile, is without any hope of rehabilitation. He gets unnaturally excited over anything book-shaped, and if book sniffing were a crime then he would have been locked up years ago (which wouldn't bother him in the slightest provided his cell was lined with books)

Robert, doesn’t every man with a sniffle think he’s dying of some sort of uber-malady? At least, every man I’ve ever met seems to think so…. ;)

I’d say nine posts in seven days is very productive — so add on the “creeping crud” (as my mother used to call just about every kind of illness we got as kids), and you’re doing quite well!

Get well soon, Rob! Have some quality time with Proust.. :D

Linda – A man’s physiology is so carefully balanced and finely-tuned. that even the slightest sniffle upsets the delicate equilibrium..it’s true :o ) Anyway thanks for your kind words!

Claire – Aww thanks. Tea and sympathy always work wonders on me :o ). Funny you should mention Proust. I read few pages earlier but couldn’t focus for too long..awwww poor lamb…hehehe :o )

Sorry to hear you’re not feeling well. I had it myself earlier in the month, spread over a fun-filled two weeks no less, so you have my complete sympathy. Feel better soon!!

Bleargh. I had the death flu in January, and am not particularly anxious for a repeat performance. Hope your recovery goes quickly!

  6. Linda M Au says:

Robert, thanks for that eloquent explanation of a man’s physiology. Based on my husband’s current, errr, physiology and the way he scarfs down food and beer, I would have thought otherwise. Silly me. ;)

Get well soon….so you can be even more productive!

Oh my goodness. There’s me not even trying to scout for sympathy (honest I wasn’t :o )), and here’s bucket loads of the stuff landing on my virtual doorstep. Thanks guys! I actually feel a lot better today, although I’m still milking as much sympathy from my wife as I can. I think she’s starting to get wise to it though :o )
    Warmest
    Rob
