Bookshelf of the Week: Lewisburg, West Virginia

I don’t have a lot of detail on the chosen shot for this week’s Bookshelf of the Week, but because I found the shot so moody and inviting, I just had to feature it. I do know that the shot was taken by Justin Litton (aka Jeezny) while on a trip to Lewisburg, West Virgina, and it looks to be a shot taken in a 2nd-hand bookstore. If I find out any more than I’ll be sure to let everyone know. Justin got back to me. Here’s what he had to say about the shot:

This particular photo was taken in a shop called “Plants Etc.” and it had second hand books in addition to plants, local handmade crafts, fossils, cards, etc. This photo only shows about half of the books that were in the shop. This back door leads out into the street but is not used to enter/exit the store, and the figure in the photo is my friend Betsy who was along with us for the visit. She was also snapping away with her camera because the woman who was running the store generously allowed us to take many photos of the place.

If you’re in the area and fancy visiting the shop yourself then Justin has also provided the details (what a font of information :o)):

Plants Etc., 102 S Jefferson Street, 304-645-6910. Open 10 am to 5 pm Monday through Saturday, and 12 pm to 4 pm on Sunday. Local handcrafts, and fossils from West Virginia and around the world.

Thanks for the extra info Justin, and thanks again for capturing the great shot in the first place!

About Rob

Rob, a self-confessed bibliophile, is without any hope of rehabilitation. He gets unnaturally excited over anything book-shaped, and if book sniffing were a crime then he would have been locked up years ago (which wouldn't bother him in the slightest provided his cell was lined with books).
