Daily Bookshot: Glint! Shimmer! Shine!

Glint! Shimmer! Shine!, originally uploaded by Robert Burdock.

I thought I’d present another shimmery book cover for today’s Daily Bookshot because I’d forgotten just how shimmery my 1994 Penguin edition of How I Live Now by Meg Rosoff really was.

How did I remember? Well I was watching Sunday’s Hay-on-Sky broadcast on Sky Arts 1 (this one HERE) and Markus Zusak (author of The Book Thief) picked it out as one of his favourite summer reads. While he was talking about it, he was holding it, and under the studio lights it glimmered and shone like the blade of a Samurai sword. That’s when I remembered that I own the same ‘shiny book’.

About Rob

Rob, a self-confessed bibliophile, is without any hope of rehabilitation. He gets unnaturally excited over anything book-shaped, and if book sniffing were a crime then he would have been locked up years ago (which wouldn't bother him in the slightest provided his cell was lined with books)
