Daily Bookshot: ‘The Cardboard Universe’

‘The Cardboard Universe’, originally uploaded by Robert Burdock.

As we almost head into a new week I head into a new book, well three actually, and this is one of them – The Cardboard Universe by Christopher Miller [ISBN: 978-0-06-168636-8].

I don’t know too much about this title (I’ll share what I do know in a ‘forethoughts’ post in the next couple of days), other than it’s unique in that it’s a novel set out in the form of a faux encyclopedia. Sound intriguing? I thought so too.

As most bibliophiles/lit bloggers probably do, I also find the cover to be quite ironic. I’ve got teetering ‘to be read’ piles just like the one shown on the cover, all over the place. In fact there’s a glimpse of a couple in the background of this shot.

Anyway I’ll be back with more on The Cardboard Universe in the next few days.

About Rob

Rob, a self-confessed bibliophile, is without any hope of rehabilitation. He gets unnaturally excited over anything book-shaped, and if book sniffing were a crime then he would have been locked up years ago (which wouldn't bother him in the slightest provided his cell was lined with books)

Irony indeed. All that’s needed now is a small printed sticker for the top right book reading “Brilliant, hilarious” and the picture will be a loop.

Owww…don’t you just hate those perpetual picture loops Biblibio? They make me all anxious and make my eyes go funny :o )
