Daily Bookshot: The Mark of a Master

The Mark of a Master, originally uploaded by Robert Burdock.

I’m sure you’ve never heard me squeal like a girl before, but if you were around at RobAround Manor yesterday you would have. And that’s because Mr. Postman delivered a book shaped package which contained something a bit special. A book yes, but not just any book. Rather a copy of ‘The Solitude of Prime Numbers’ by Paolo Giordano, which was signed to me by the literary maestro himself.

If you read RobAroundBooks regularly then you’ll know I’ve harped on about this debut novel by Giordano for the past couple of weeks now, and although I’ve still to post my final ‘afterthoughts’ on the novel (keep an eye out for it), I can tell you that ‘The Solitude of Prime Numbers’ moved me greatly. So much so that I’m a bit overwhelmed to be receiving this signed copy.

So before I fill up and get even more girly I’ll close by passing on my undying gratitude to Paolo for doing this for me, and to Samantha at Transworld for arranging it. May the bookish gods shine favourably upon both of you, for the whole of eternity!

About Rob

Rob, a self-confessed bibliophile, is without any hope of rehabilitation. He gets unnaturally excited over anything book-shaped, and if book sniffing were a crime then he would have been locked up years ago (which wouldn’t bother him in the slightest provided his cell was lined with books).
