Reading Journal: Mon 6th July 2009

07:00 – Onwards with Ox-Tales: Earth (Profile Books), and today it was a story from Marina Lewycka which is endearingly titled The Importance of Warm Feet. The story turned out to be rather endearing too, with its subject not surprisingly centering around the theme of keeping the tootsies toasted.

21:00 – Way too much time spent away from the books and the computer today. Managed to get a contemplative hour of Endo’s Silence (Peter Owen) before sitting down to write this entry, and it only deepened my love both for the book and its author. I’m intending to fall asleep reading this tonight with a view to finishing it or at least getting close to it.

‘Reading Journal’ provides an unedited, on-the-fly record of the bookish highlights in Rob’s reading day.

About Rob

Rob, a self-confessed bibliophile, is without any hope of rehabilitation. He gets unnaturally excited over anything book-shaped, and if book sniffing were a crime then he would have been locked up years ago (which wouldn't bother him in the slightest provided his cell was lined with books)
