My dear, dear bookish friends! You really must accept my apologies for the recent inconsistency in my posts. There’s nothing that unsettles me more than an upset routine, and lately I don’t think I’ve ever been so disorganised (although Mrs. Rob could probably give you a hundred examples every day).
Although I thought last week’s migration to WordPress 2.8 went well, and for the most part it did, I’ve still spent a lot more time in the ‘engine room’ this week than I’d envisaged I would. The result has been that much of my ‘golden time’ has again been swallowed up fiddling around with stupid HTML code and the like. Hugely irritating for me, but I imagine quite frustrating for you too. The good news is though, I am definitely almost there now, so we all should start enjoy a regular posting frequency again.
Now is probably a good time to thank you for all for your patience and continued support, and I mean sincerely.
Rob, I adore your site, and all the tweaks as they’ve unfolded. You’re doing what I always wanted to be doing with my own site. (I am fumbling badly, and I hate to take advantage of my webmaster’s time … since he’s also my son and does most of the work out of a sense of obligation, I fear.)
Do NOT apologize for anything. You have a TON of stuff here and you keep up with it amazingly well. And the tweaks have all been worth it. It’s probably my favorite book/reading-related site!

Linda you always, always, ALWAYS say the nicest things. Thank you as always for the kind words, and the dose of morale boosting. As for your webmastering son – you can always pull rank and insist that he helps his mum out, or motherly duties may be suspended
(but I know you’re too nice to do that).
Warmest
Rob
