War on the Margins giveaway: And the winners are…

War on the Margins by Libby Cone The deadline is past, the entries are in (a total of 69 in the end which is phenomenal), and I can now reveal that the winners in my giveaway competition to win one of three copies of Duckworth’s newly published novel War on The Margins by Libby Cone, are:

  • Miranda
  • Rick
  • Elaine H.

So hearty congratulations to all three winners (an email is on its way to each of you), and a massive thank you (along with commiserations), to everyone who entered this giveaway competition. I’m absolutely thrilled that so many people showed an interest.

Oh and for the benefit of disclosure, a quick rundown on how the winners were selected – I numbered all entrants chronologically in the order that each put their name down i.e. the first was #1 and the last #69. Then I used the Random Integer Generator at Random.org to select the winners. Here’s a screenshot of the generated results.

Anyway keep your eyes open for another giveaway on RobAroundBooks real soon, and my thanks again to Duckworth for making this one happen.

About Rob

Rob, a self-confessed bibliophile, is without any hope of rehabilitation. He gets unnaturally excited over anything book-shaped, and if book sniffing were a crime then he would have been locked up years ago (which wouldn't bother him in the slightest provided his cell was lined with books)

Damn… I’m gonne have to buy it now…

I’m not sure why you posted the screenshot and website randomgenerator since it does not prove anything (yes, I checked it out…shame on me).
Though I’m sure I’ve been discriminated on the grounds that I’m French. This is racial profiling!

    Nick,
Great to hear from you. I sincerely hope you’re joking about the discriminating (which I’m sure you are). Nobody is more honest, fair or above board then I am, and you have my word on that.

As for posting the screenshot. Well in the first place I wanted to prove that I did use some kind of random system, and if anyone wanted to take the time to number each of the entries from 1-69, in the order they were received, then they would see that the generated number correspond. I agree it’s not 100% for verifying the proof of the winners, but better than nothing?

Anyway I’m sorry you didn’t win a copy Nick (as I am for the other 65 unsuccessful entries), but hopefully next time.
    Warmest
    Rob

Of course I’m joking Rob! (or am I?). I’m not that sore a loser! (or am I?)

Rob, if anyone reading this blog doubts of your honesty, well… it’s that he/she doesn’t really read your blog. I don’t think proving you used a random generator is necessary in our charming book-lovers community. But then, maybe I am wrong (as is, thank God, often the case) and you’ve received a lot of hateful emails by disappointed contestants…
