If you ever find your bookish self in Seattle (I wish) then the subject for this week’s Bookshelf of the Week may just be the place for you. This is Bauhaus Books & Coffee, and as this shot taken by Adam (aka kindofindie) shows, books are a very prominent and glorious feature. Here’s one customer talking about Bauhaus’ heaven-reaching bookcase (direct link):
This is the perfect spot to have a sip of gourmet made coffee while studying for your finals. but not only that, this coffeeshop has this wall filled with books which is open to the public. so, if you would like to have a sip of flavorful coffee and have a great book to read at the same time, then Bauhaus is the place to be.
Books are not the only reason to visit Bauhaus however. From what I’ve read about it, Bauhaus is the hip ‘n’ happening place to be in a cultural sense too, where architects brush shoulders with musicians and artists mingle with writers. Citysearch perhaps sum up the cultural ambiance of Bauhaus most succinctly, by describing the place as – ‘coffee with an urban beatnik heartbeat and great people-watching possibilities.’
And if that’s not enough for you, well I also have it on good authority that the location of the coffeehouse offers great views of Seattle’s world famous Space Needle.
So with all that culture, and books as well, how could one not pop into Bauhaus while visiting Seattle? If you do or have then I’d love to hear your thoughts. Thanks again to Adam for a great shot.

How sad that I’m in the Seattle area and haven’t been here. I know … it’s a terrible oversight.
says:
Well Kristen, you’ve publicly declared that now so you’ve GOT to pay a visit. If you do then take a few shots. Love to see more of it
