Courtesy of ooh_food, who in turn credits SeeSaw Designs, this week’s featured Bookshelf of the Week is this shot of the impressive office of New York-based Brazilian artist Vik Muniz. Known primarily for replicating famous works of art in different mediums (peanut butter and jelly Mona Lisa anyone?), it’s easy to see just how much emphasis Muniz places on books in his life (although he does have a few empty shelves at the top there
).
It’s a stunning workplace isn’t it? And while I object to the bearskin rug on the floor (I’m hoping it’s a fake) this is a room in which I’d definitely be happy writing up my RobAroundBook posts.

Sigh. I would love to just BE in this room.

I’ve never really “gotten” the whole bearskin rug thing. Not from an animal rights point of view. But from a practical point of view. I mean, who wants a rug you can (and will) TRIP over?
Or are we supposed to pretend that head is a built-in footstool or something?
Give me a nice berber over this any day.
(Yes, I’m striving vainly to find a reason not to be desperately envious of this guy’s workspace by focusing on the one element that just doesn’t fit.)

They’re ugly things indeed Linda. And I don’t care too much for Viz’s office at all. It’s way too ornate, and nobody ever needs that many bookshelves do they? (whispers: I know, I’m a bad liar
)
