Daily Bookshot: Forgetting Detective ‘Tourettes’

I’m usually pretty good at keeping a mental tag on all the books I purchase, but invariably over time, as I’m sure it is with most readers, I start to forget about a few of the books I’ve added to my shelves (unless of course I’m looking right at them…but even then :) ). It’s certainly unusual for me to forget a book purchase in less than two weeks though, as I found out today when I uncovered this very recent purchase, Motherless Brooklyn by Jonathan Letham (Faber).

I sat for a moment puzzled, and finally the brain fog cleared and I remembered ordering it on Amazon just over a week ago. The worst of it is though I also remembered that I solicited for opinion on Twitter, as to whether this was a worthy read or not. The first signs of senility or a common condition of the bibliophile? You decide!

P.S. I’m loving the simple yet intricate design work of this cover. Yet another great artistic creation from Jonathon Gray.

About Rob

Rob, a self-confessed bibliophile, is without any hope of rehabilitation. He gets unnaturally excited over anything book-shaped, and if book sniffing were a crime then he would have been locked up years ago (which wouldn't bother him in the slightest provided his cell was lined with books)
