Daily Bookshot: Persian Splendour

Persian Splendour, originally uploaded by Robert Burdock.

I couldn’t think of a more appropriate subject for today’s Daily Bookshot than the book I’m just about to start reading, Earth and Ashes by Atiq Rahimi (Other Press).

The cover – the creation of Kathleen DiGrado – is absolutely exquisite and it magnificently amplifies to the person standing before it, that this truly is a literary creation of Persian origin.

And because I only just posted my forethoughts for Earth and Ashes a little earlier, that’s all I’m going to say about today’s Daily Bookshot. I think it speaks for itself anyway (well an image of the full cover certainly does anyway :) ).

About Rob

Rob, a self-confessed bibliophile, is without any hope of rehabilitation. He gets unnaturally excited over anything book-shaped, and if book sniffing were a crime then he would have been locked up years ago (which wouldn't bother him in the slightest provided his cell was lined with books)
