Daily Bookshot: Kindle-ing

Kindle-ing, originally uploaded by Robert Burdock.

It’s been a while in coming, but I’m pleased to say that I’ve finally managed to scrape together the cash for an Amazon Kindle. I’m no stranger to dedicated ebook readers, having owned a Sony PRS505 since they first came out in the UK, but there’s just something slicker and much easier about the Amazon Kindle, right folks?

Funny thing is, with EdBookFest stretching my finances to the limit right now, I wasn’t even considering a Kindle purchase at the moment. That was until @milorambles tweeted this yesterday afternoon. How could anyone resist at that price? Well I certainly couldn’t, anyway :) .

Sure, this is a refurbished model, but do you know what? It’s factory-sealed, in immaculate condition, and it seems to work perfectly (fingers crossed). So far I’m really pleased with it, and even more so when this portrait of Steinbeck popped up :)

So Kindle is in ‘da house’ and it’s all down to an initial ‘heads up’ from Miles. Cheers for that mate. I owe you one.

About Rob

Rob, a self-confessed bibliophile, is without any hope of rehabilitation. He gets unnaturally excited over anything book-shaped, and if book sniffing were a crime then he would have been locked up years ago (which wouldn't bother him in the slightest provided his cell was lined with books)
