I couldn’t resist it. I discovered James Rusk’s outstanding digitised collection of 201 Chekhov short stories and I instantly saw a personal challenge waiting to be snapped up.

I’ve only just started reading Chekhov, after beginning my other short story reading challenge 100 Shots of Short but he’s already become an incredibly important writer to me - very soul nurturing.

This challenge is straightforward enough - I read all 201 of Chekhov’s shorts, in the order they are presented. No time limit - just as and when. You can keep track of my progress in the sprawling table below where each story is listed, together with date read, rating and a link to a little micro-review for each one.
