Sadly it’s only a short meaningless Sunday Salon post from me today (do I ever offer anything else :o)) as I’m suffering the fallout of participating in my first 24 Hour Read-a-Thon.

Local time is 07:43 and I’ve just finished Heart of Darkness. Whether it was was down to trying to comprehend the prose at such an early hour, or whether the material was just too dense (I think you’re right Kim :o), it’s really been a tough, laborious couple of hours finishing off the second half [...]
Local time is 05:06. Managed to fall asleep around 01:00 (oops!), halfway through Heart of Darkness. Determined to get this finished by 07:00 so I can get a third book finished before the time limit. Not a brilliant total, but a total nonetheless.

It’s 12:06pm (GMT), the Read-a-Thon has started and I’m heading into my first book. Contrary to my initial Read-a-Thon post, I’m starting with The Diary of a Nobody by George & Weedon Grossmith. I think it gives me a nice easy lead-in to the challenge, which is something I feel I need.
